Macie Jeff and Kehara

Well - after a few crazy turns of events - Macie ended up in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia with the man himself, Jeff Corwin at the Siberian Tiger conservatory. Here's how it happened ... On Saturday morning we woke up and heard on the morning news that the Animal Planet Expo was at Liberty Park. So, being the Animal Planet enthusiasts that we are, we sprung out of bed, threw on some shorts and headed out. When we walked in (about 4th in line) we were given all kinds of free goodies not the least of which was a couple of fine meerkat fans to keep us cool on what was expected to be 100 degree + day. Well, the buzz around the expo was that Bindi Irwin (yes, the very amazing daughter of the Croc Hunter himself) was going to make a surprise appearance. We scouted out the exhibits - plotting out our plan of attack which would ensure we got to do the giant Crocodile slide, had front row seats for the frisbee dog show and then would be able to turn and sprint to the stage where Bindi was expected to make her appearance. Well, Macie finished up the Croc slide and we high-tailed it over to the amazing frisbee dog show. That's where it happened. Right there front row on the rope line. They made the announcement. They would be throwing out frisbees for all the kids.. "And one lucky kid would get a very special frisbee with a golden sticker on the back. That frisbee would be good for a free round trip ticket for a child and their parent to the Siberian Tiger Conservatory in Petaling Jaya". Well, Macie jumped and got the golden ticket frisbee all by herself. It was a catch that would've made Darryl Strawberry proud. The news cameras came rushing over- one snot nosed kid tried to grab it out of her hands but I threw a stiff elbow to his temple with my left arm while I held Macie up with my right. She waived the frisbee adorned with the golden sticker to the crowd. Rod Decker shoved a mic in my face and started asking questions. I told him I'd only agree to an interview with Van Oaker that caused quite a scuttlebutt... .. ... stop... Ok. I'm getting bored with this little day dream. It's all a fictional tale - well, there was a slide and a frisbee dog show.. but the truth of the matter is we just got some photo enhanced picture with Jeff C at the Expo. Bye.

I office within walking distance of some of the finest dining establishments in downtown SLC - But I have to tell you, sometimes - nothing beats the Sgheds! I really do love 'em. And Sgheds with meatballs YUMMA. I had a little hop in my step while I tossed the can into the air on my short walk to the microwave. A few quick cranks with the ol' opener - set the timer on the microwave - grabbed my paper bowl and plastic spoon and in under 90 seconds I was in pure savory delightful heaven. Wish I had 2 cans!

His first shot was his best. By far. Hit the 2nd ring of the BullsEye. 'bout a half an inch from the 10 spot. But the recoil made him wince with fear. "Holy cow this baby has some KICK!" He stepped back for a minute. He couldn't hit the paper after that. "what's the point of even having one if I can't even hit the paper Nick?" he asked on the ride home. "I'd have a better chance injuring a perp by throwing my gun at him than I ever would shooting him" "or her" he quickly clarified to make sure I knew a perp could be a "her" too. He looked down at his phone. "I just got a text from Mabel. She said she's really good with a gun". "She's crazy huh Nick?" "There is no way she could hit the paper." "She might be able to shoot a rifle, but that is so different. I'm serious! she has NO IDEA." "I'd really like to see her try". "Look at me, I'm still shaking" He held up his quivering hand. "maybe if she put the target like 2 inches from the barrel she could hit it." he laughed. "but maybe it would be too loud for Bella". "do you think?" "Maybe I'll just put a bunch of cotton balls around her belly and wrap it with an ACE." he chuckled. He grabbed the target from the floor, looked at his first shot again, shook his head and then got out of my car.

Macie Learned to Swim Today!!!!

Bubbalicious finally did it - took the plunge if you will. She's been flirting with the idea of going it alone for a few weeks now - and today she just did it! Didn't even hesitate - after a few test runs she said "daddy - go to the other side - i'll jump in and swim across" and she did it! THAT'S MY GIRL!!!!

FREE SLURPEES

FREE SLURPEE DAY - Gosh, sometimes things are just good and right with the world - And free Slurpee day is one of those times -  It's nice to see the Sev give a little back - a little bit-o-delicious-Icy sugary heaven that everyone can enjoy - Absolutely FREE. I say HOO-RAY for July 11th every year -  Macie, Tej and I have already been once before 10am  - we're heading out again! I wonder how many we could consume - I bet between the 3 of us - upwards of 50 - They are free but they are only slightly larger than a standard sacrament cup - but still - they're free - walk in, fill up your little cup, smile and wave at the clerk - perhaps a little head nod to let them know you appreciate this little kind gesture -and walk out NO PURCHASE NECESSARY! What a glorious day!

Rexy, Bud and I went golfing at Bonneville - they beat me. But at least I was invited. That is always a treat - to hang out with Rexy and Bud - They are a funny duo - And Rex said my blog is boring because there weren't enough pictures of him - here are some of my favorites.

Beautiful Suzi - Oh Suzi Q

Here are a few things that describe sweet Suzi (a.k.a. QZ, Q, Sweet Suz,  Suzi Q,The Beautiful Raven Haired Chicana, Suzanne, and last but not least - the Cutlery Chic). I have no idea how or why she's put up with me this long - there are easier existential questions brilliant minds have tried to tackle - but I don't try to understand questions such as these any longer -  I have learned that sometimes things just can't be explained. 

So, to quote the honorable Robert Nesta Marley ("Bob" for you "My Reggae collection is the Legend CD" wanna be Rasta fans) "she makes me feel like, a sweepstakes winner" -
